"Employee of the Month" is the first segment of the third episode in the first season of Breadwinners, and the fifth episode overall. It aired on March 1, 2014.
Synopsis
Buhdeuce’s life is about to change forever when SwaySway gives out an award.
Plot
The episode starts with the day, that SwaySway gives out the Employee of the Month Award, Buhdeuce is excited because he thinks it's going to be him. He explodes out of happiness, while SwaySway telling him that he has to be ready for a ceremony.
However, the ceremony takes long, until Buhdeuce is angry and impatient. The award is given to the.... Rocket Van! Buhdeuce is blinded with joy, beleiving it's him, until he lets it go after realising it's the rocket van.
Buhdeuce is deeply disappointed and hurt and takes it out on poor Jelly, until he decides to work really hard to prove he is a better employee than the Rocket Van. But it seems to be bringing harm to himself and being deprived of sleep. He eventually gets in real danger after is about to be eaten by monster, until the Rocket Van saves his life.
Buhdeuce begins to realize how wonderful the Rocket Van really is and understands why it won. SwaySway turns the van back home, while Buhdeuce sighs sadly as the scene cuts to Rocket Van driving and disappearing to the sun.
Later that night, back in the Swamp Pad, Buhdeuce sincerely thanks the van for saving him and apologizes for trying to steal the award from it. But Buhdeuce is still sad that he lost.
Buhdeuce sings a sad song about how he lost.
SwaySway, who overheard the song, right about the corner, he realizes how much Buhdeuce wanted to become the best Breadwinner, comes and supportingly reassures Buhdeuce that he really is a great Breadwinner and both sing a song about being best friends, together. SwaySway then gives to him Employee of the Year Award, Buhdeuce becomes really happy that he explodes multiple times in happiness, ending the episode.

- This is the first time SwaySway is seen with glasses.
- "Employee of the Year" award doesn't really exist in real life.
- This is the first time Buhdeuce acts like "a machine", and he will again in further episodes.
Cutural References
- SpongeBob SquarePants: The episode shares the title with an episode of this show (which is also another Nickelodeon show). The plots are similar because Buhdeuce tries to prove he is better than the Rocket Van and SpongeBob and Squidward try to prove they are better than each other. This episode also resembles a scene from the Spongebob Squarepants movie when Mr. Krabs is announcing the new manager for the Krusty Krab 2. Spongebob gets extremely excited even after Mr. Krabs announced Squidward would be the manager. In Breadwinners "Employee of the Month", Buhdeuce does the same thing when SwaySway announces the winner.
