Steven James "Steve" Borst (born September 7, 1977) is a two-time Emmy-nominated writer and a creator and executive producer of Nickelodeon’s animated original series Breadwinners.
Since moving to Los Angeles in 2009, Borst has written for various animated television series including Cartoon Network's Teen Titans Go! and sketch comedy series MAD — both produced by Warner Bros. Animation. In 2012, he served as head writer of the independently produced series Cartoon Lagoon, an official selection of the 2012 New York Television Festival.
Previously, Borst lived in New York City, where he joined the Nickelodeon family as a writer in 2003 and later as head writer for Nick Creative Advertising. He was responsible for writing on-air promos, commercials, public service announcements, print advertisements, promotional materials, online content, network branding, corporate presentations, and live events.
Over the past decade, Borst has earned numerous awards, including multiple Promax/BDA Awards as well as an Emmy nomination for his work as a writer on MAD. Additionally, Borst worked on Nickelodeon’s 2004 Emmy-nominated PSA "How to Be Well."
Borst graduated from Cornell University in 2000 with a degree in English.
